Artist's Comments
This is a semi abstract impression of the Grand Pacific Glacier in Alaska's Glacier Bay. The ice front is 200 feet high and a mix of translucent blues and greens. The ice makes groaning,cracking noises as it moves and distorts and huge sections break free with a thunderous rumble.
Thanks to DarthFar for suggesting saran wrap or cling film to us Brits. I used salt on parts and scraped the paint with a credit card in others. Sometimes it's nice to have a change and let watercolour do exactly what it wants.  |
